Hello,

I've recently come upon the older model Pasquini badged La Cimbali Jr. for dirt cheap but have found after opening it up, it was infested with mice. It is filthy inside with some tubing and wiring been chewed on. This is a plumb in/vibe pump model but there is some sort of reservoir looking thing from which the pump draws from. Does anyone have any idea what this is? At the bottom of this reservoir is a filter before the outlet hose that goes to the pump. Does this act as a water filter/softener reservoir? It is much too small to be a water reservoir as are found in pour over models. And since this is a plumb in model (i can tell this because there is a copper water inlet fixture sticking out the bottom of the machine) how does it maintain mains pressure if it flows through this reservoir before the pump?

As for the chewed on electrical wiring, can I simply replace the wiring with similar gauge wiring such as speaker wire or must the gauge be right on for it to function properly? Or will some electrical tape and/or heat shrink tubing suffice? I guess as long as there aren't any exposed wires right?

I am unable to find much information on this particular machine but can I assume that since this is pretty much an older version of a regular Cimbali badged jr that any info I find for that I can apply to mine? If anyone has any direct knowledge or experience with this machine, I would greatly appreciate your insights and advice.

Thanks all. :D

The clear tank you are talking about with the probes coming out of it are for setting all your levels i.e. water level, shot levels etc. As for the wiring I would definitely stay with the same gauge wiring that it has. I have a wiring diagram I can send you email if you want it or you can call Pasquini at 213-739-0480 and they can help you with it.

Great, thanks for the info. Are you familiar enough with this machine to tell me where the other end of that hose that comes out of the reservoir goes to?

Yeah, if you could send me the wiring diagram that'd be great. I'll send an email, thanks!

The flexible tube that goes into the top center of the dosing chamber should be attached to the overpressure valve (OPV) just above the rear center of the drip tray.
