Oscar professional brain rewiring

Postby gerard on Mon May 02, 2011 6:51 am

Hi
I just put a new brain in my Oscar professional coffee machine I have had it for over ten years and it has been great. The big blue transformer in the brain sort of melted on the old one which I assume controlled the element as it was not heating. I tested the element and it worked so I hope this was what was wrong
Problem is when I disconnected the wiring I wrote the colour scheme down and only used lettering to mark where the wire connections went back onto the brain
Therefore using B was not helpful as there was a blue wire and a brown wire and now I can't remember which goes where the blue or brown would be on the outside end of the unit so if anyone knows I would really appreciate it or could post a photo of the wiring set up
Mine is the 230v unit

Cheers

Where are you in Australia...

I have done a number of repairs on the brain boxes and the transformer fail is common across all controllers...

If you PM me your details I can be a bit more specific and with a picture or two, should be able to get you up and running.

Note: Blue and Brown is Dangerous in some cases as if from the main side... IS Neutral and Active, thus you could cause some interesting outcomes... And some that you may not want.

PS. I would like to get your old one to look at and to see if I could fix.
