Hi,

Do you know where I can find manuals for old Rancilio machines (L6) and good resources on the web about espresso machine restoration?

What would be your advice on restoration?

Regards

Hi,
There is a L6 restoration thread on Kaffee-netz. If you don't understand German, the picture will give you an idea on what to do: number the wires, disassemble the machine (taking a lot of pictures) and clean/descale all the metallic parts, change the seals, reassemble and plug back the wires.
But first, you should check if the pump, heating element and electronic parts (if any) are functional, these could be quite expensive to replace.
For the diagrams and parts number you can check here: body, group/boiler and pump/electronic.

Hi pootoogoo,

Thanks a lot for this great reply. The post is amazing with full of details.
I'll post picture on a dedicated thread during all the steps of the restoration.

It's very useful!
