There is another nice shot of the machine here: http://nuovadistribution.com/news.html. I like how it floats in a cloud of mist.

The information I received from Kyle Belmondo at Nuova Simonelli is that the double shot baskets (p/n: 03000322) hold 14 to 18 grams, and that the triple (p/n: 03001819) holds up to 22 grams. I know we stock these and can confirm that the angled handle commercial portafilters that come with the oscar can accept the triple basket. I have also pulled out the older handles from the Oscar we use on catering events and the triple basket fits those as well. The triple measures exactly 1.08" from the top of the rim to the bottom of the basket. I know that it does not fit a Rancilio Silvia standard portafilter.

Nice looking unit. Love the dosing buttons above the water flow.

It's a regular espresso machine disguised as a superautomatic

This thing has really caught my eye. I wonder if this would be a worthwhile upgrade from my Gaggia. Perhaps there are better machines in this price range.

Still I like the look of it, the fact I'd be able to brew and steam at the same time, water spout, and the programmable dosing option.

Specs say that brew pressure (and presumably temperature) are adjustable.

I'm a long way from an upgrade, though. (Maybe someone will send me a free one to review.)

Is is too bad it doesnt seem to be a PID machine, I was hoping the area above the buttons was a LCD display but it seems to just be an emblem. I could be wrong, it is kinda hard to tell.

A PID doesn't make the espresso. A machine doesn't make the espresso. It's the person using the machine that makes the espresso . . . .
