No steam from the silvia steam wand

Postby bassoon1024 on Tue Apr 21, 2009 12:11 pm

I've had my silvia for about two years now. I woke up this morning and went to brew my shots...when i tried to steam my milk nothing but water would come out of the steam wand. Is this a thermostat problem? The group is also not getting as hot as it needs to. The water coming out is warm.

Thanks,
Richard

Does the orange heater light eventually turn off in steam mode? If yes, and if the water is only warm coming out of the wand, then probably the steam thermostat needs to be replaced. If the light never turns off, then it might be a heating element problem.
