Huh, that's different from the ones I'm used to. Must be a newer version without the middle screw. Sorry, I can't help you with that.

Next step, as suggested by someone on the gaggia@yahoogroups.com, is to check out the solenoid and 3-way valve:



I applied a current to the solenoid, and it clicks, so I think it's fine. I am not sure how to get the 3-way valve off to clean / check that out.

Slide hose off
Loosen/remove lower nut
Slide coil off
Unscrew top nut/assembly
Soak top nut/assembly in white vinegar for 30-45 minutes
Rinse and reassemble

Thanks for all the pointers - after removing the 3-way valve, soaking it in Puly Caff + hot water for a couple of hours, I now have a nice steady flow from the bottom of the boiler again. Looking forward to flushing it out and trying my first home espresso in about 3 weeks.
