Newbie needs help with La Spaziale Vivaldi II

Postby Mojoman on Sun Feb 06, 2011 2:52 pm

Alright, so I am a lucky relative newbie who recently got a Vivaldi II.
After a bit of trial and tribulation with plumbing in, as of this morning it is plumbed in.
Btw using a Vario and roasted 6 days ago beans.
However, I am having a few issues I hope you all can help me with.

1) I am using the 115v adaptor - should I turn off the boiler, or will it manage that itself by being in the 115v mode?

2) When I attempt to extract with the two cup button the extraction stops after a few seconds....why would that be?

3) when the steam wand starts it consistently shoots out water first - is that normal?

That should help to start....any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

First of all, have you read the review?

1). I don't know what you mean by a 115V adaptor. If you mean the 15A vs. 20A mode, that is covered in First Impressions. In a nutshell, 15A mode prevents both heating elements from coming on at the same time. In 20A mode, the heating elements in the brew and steam boiler can run at the same time. Except for startup time, most will never notice the difference.

2). Sounds like the volumetric dosing isn't set correctly. See Setting the Auto-Dosing for instructions.

3). Yes, condensation in the steam wand is normal. Purge it into the drip tray before steaming milk.
