NEW VIBIEMME DOUBLEDOMO OWNERS: Read this before turning unit on! - Page 4

You're right, it's purpose is to control the steam boiler, but the steam boiler can have secondary effects. E61 double boiler machines rely on a smaller thermal gradient than their HX cousins. The Vibiemme DoubleDomo has larger diameter tubing on the upper leg of the thermosyphon than the lower leg to encourage circulation. If the steam boiler is off, the effectiveness of this difference is reduced. That said, a flush should very quickly raise the group temperature and end this apparent "thermosyphon stall".

Note this is speculation on my part... Vibiemme is working on the next production run as we speak with feedback from early adopters. What is reported by today's owners may not be true one month from now. From what I understand, our evaluation models will come from the next production run.

I can confirm the larger diameter tubing encouraging the circulation of the thermosyphon, but as far as a short flush bringing it up to temp, I find that when in position 2, the flush brings it to a bit over 200* in a second or two, while when in position 1, the flush takes about 6 or 7 seconds to bring it up to temp. I hope once the new, larger steam boiler is installed that this is even closer of a flush time while in position 2, as the amount of thermal heat put off by the larger steam boiler should impact the group accordingly.

I would hope that what is reported on the new production run is what our machines will eventually be reporting when they're upgraded to this new v2. VBM and 1st-line have been extremely helpful at getting us early adopters up to speed on what's happening in the background.

Now I just have to keep convincing myself my DD is fine and I don't need a Speedster!

Dan,

So you think the next batch will be here in mid July versus end of June? I'm in that batch as well and trying to figure out when it might arrive.

Thanks...

Sorry, I don't know the shipping schedule and there's no assurance ours would be on the same container as yours.

Probably on the same mule train that's bringing the Dalla Cortes. :D

Na, they are about to purchase the ground that the trees will be planted on that will eventually grow and be cut down to create the packing crates for the Dalla. However, they have not purchased the land yet and the EPA wants an impact study before the purchase goes through.
