The "hush hush" prototype is now official and it sounds like the machine will be hitting the market next year.

"True Pressure Profiling"....
Hmmm....

Is this the Strada? We were discussing that it would have to be programmable pressure profiles to be useful in a busy shop. I'm still a bit lost when it comes to the methods being used in pressure profiles. I can't wait to hear more about the technical solutions.

Could it be streets ahead of its predecessors? (Tada!)

The Stumptown blog states: To date, no production machine has been able to truly enable true pressure profiling.

Hmmmm. Well maybe not with a gauge, but what about lever machines?

They're talking about commercial machines.
And pressure control != pressure profiling. Profiling assumes a repeatable profile.

Hi guys,

don't want to sound harsh, but they really should work on the body. Saying that looks isn't it's best part is the nicest way I can put this. What's with the one-handed-bandit-like levers?

Any info on how the auto profiling is going to work? is it possible to change the profile easily or do you have to hook up a laptop? Can it replay the paddle profile (ie. movements of the paddle)?

Regards,
dsc.

Clearly, aesthetics are subjective.
I think a lot of the potential buyers (ie not home baristas) are going to love the look of the machine. By only critique is that it doesn't have the visual ties to classic LM design that I would like to see.
