Hello,

i have a new (4 weeks) Isomac Millenium and had no problems with it until now.

Yesterday some condensed water formed inside the manometer showing the boiler pressure and does not go away even when the machines is well heated after soem hours.. Are there any similar experiences? Were could the water come from? I had no irregular behavour of the machine, although i heard some water dripping on hot metal in the first days, but this has stopped.

I am a little afraid, that something is wrong inside the machine (maybe vapor forming inside the machine from a leaking pipe or something). Should i open her up or do you think nothing serious is wrong here?

Thanks

Chris

Let it cool, unplug it, and open it up. You have a water leak somewhere that needs to be addressed ASAP. Once opened, power it back on and start searching for the leak. It sounds like a drip is hitting the gauge, so start north of there. Post back what you find. It could be a simple fitting that needs to be tightened.

OK, i opened it up. I cannot see any water leaking while pulling espresso, steaming or at the hot water tap or while filling the boiler.

Also i don't see any limescale marks. From what i can see (or cannot see) in the machine, probably simply the manometer is defect...

BTW the manometer is slowly running full of water...i think i have to send it in for a warranty repair :(

Do you think, it is safe to operate the machine over the weekend?

Actually, if the gauge is all that is effected, you're lucky. As for sending it in...If you are slightly mechanically inclined you should be able to swap out the gauge. If it were me, I'd ask if I can get a replacement gauge so that I can swap it out myself and save the downtime and shipping expense.

I'd leave it open and continue to use it, looking for water each time. If indeed it is just the gauge, there is no harm done. If you discover a leak elsewhere, I'd cease use if it drips near electrical parts of the machine.

I would surely like to swap it out myself, i am an engineer, so i do not think this should be a problem, but i think they will not give me a replacement because of warranty reasons. Actually i think, i might not even open the machine without voiding the warranty...

We will see, i have written emails to the dealer and the service center in my country.
