New espresso machine boiler will not fill

Postby equill on Fri Dec 25, 2009 1:02 pm

Help!

I just unboxed my new Bezzera BZ02 DE. I filled it with water and turned it on. The lights show that it is suppose to be filling the boiler, but the water level in the tank does not go down at all.

A couple of air bubbles come up from the intake in the tank. I tried to remove the small filter but it does not help.

I've turned it on and off about 5 times. Every time I hear the noise of pump running for about 5 mins and then the light flash that there is not water in the boiler.

Suggestions?

Sounds like the pump will not prime (air bubble). Try the turkey baster trick described in Need some help ASAP with new espresso machine setup, Starbucks Barista pump works no water out of grouphead, or WholeLatteLove's The pump is loud and no water comes out of the steam wand or group head. IMPORTANT: The pump should not be run for more than 1 minute without a minute of rest to avoid overheating. Also, if the boiler isn't filled within a minute, turn off the machine for 5 minutes to allow it to cool. Otherwise you risk melting the heating element.
