More info with covers removed on the Profitec Pro 700 Dual Boiler from Whole Latte Love.
German & Italian engineering & build. Best of both worlds.
ECM Germany sister company. Same quality. Based on what I saw at ECM & Profitec
took a gamble & preordered mine from I Drink Coffee before I saw the video.
I Drink Coffee is a great company here in Canada.

I did the same. Pre-ordered mine and also got a mazzer mini e type A. The mazzer is here (great upgrade from rocky!) and now im impatiently awaiting the profitec from I drink coffee. I was a little nervous about the pre-order but just like you the more info that comes out the better I feel about it. I plan on plumbing it in shortly after it arrives. How about you?

Was thinking of the V2B as an upgrade but the Profitec 700 caught my eye a few weeks ago when info was released. Just looks like an awesome machine.

I plan on trying to get a review with some video/pics up within a week or two after it arrives if I can, so if you don't purchase before that time then maybe my review can help direct you one way or the other. I've only owned a Silvia/Rocky so I wont be able to compare it against other double boiler machines, at least from an experience perspective. Also, I took advantage of Idrinkcoffee.com's pre-order special that they had going so, as always, the price vs. perceived benefit ratio will be forever changing and may have made sense for what I paid for it but not for others. We'll have to wait and see!
Btw, as I understand it from their website, Idrinkcoffee.com is expecting to receive the first shipment in sometime next week. Supposing it takes a week to get it to me from then, I will try and have some initial thoughts posted by... say... April 25th if not sooner.

I also plan to plumb it in. I have an 8 liter SS Rechargeable Resin Water Filter Softener that needs new resin that is sitting in the garage.
I'm not usually an early adopter with new complex double boiler espresso machines.
But I took a gamble based on ECM's reputation & strengths & clean & serviceable design layout (look inside the ECM Contravento DB & shared parts) & off the shelf parts & I Drink Coffee's pre-order discount & free shipping in Canada & 2 years warranty & no Quebec sales tax to pay coming from Ontario & the rising American dollar & the price of eggs in China.
Plus I wanted something that was a little more wife friendly. Text book grind, tamp, lock, pull without having to be one with the machine like most of us. Not that there is anything wrong with that. She could still pull shots with the Andreja like a champion but required constant supervision & coaching about HX coolling flush & thermosiphon rebound & timing even with Erics Temp Probe mod.
I'm coming from a 15 year old Livia 90 to a 2nd hand Andreja Premium that I've had for for 9 months now.
I do all the repairs & maintenance myself. These forums have been a great help. Thank you. Thank you.
Plus I have a technical job so I have technical skills & a tinkerer at heart.
I've honed my technical & barrista skills thanks to mainly Eric Svendsen & Dan Kehn & everyone on this forum too many to mention.
I also want to thank the Academy for nominating me........oops wrong speech.
Here's a German review from KAFFEE-NETZ Comunity that I translated with google. You have to read it a few times for it to start making more & more sense but it gives you a good idea from someone in the know.

Yes, looks like a good contender in this price segment. I'm interested how it compares to the Quick Mill Vetrano 2b. Seems to be very similar specs. Can't find any info on the under side, like drain taps for the boilers, pump adjustment etc. On the V2B I see they use silicon tubes, in the Pro 700 they use copper. The V2B uses brass for the brew boiler, the Pro 700 uses stainless steel. Maybe a point to consider in the taste or longevity department, although they claim the brass is also 'no taste'.
Both have the Gicar and the fluid-o-tech.
Anybody find any reasons to go with either one or the other?

I pretty seriously considered pre-ordering this machine, but the lack of feedback and internal shots put me off, and the price has gone up a lot now. Jet Black Espresso in Australia reports excellent stability with Scace readings. I note that like the Rocket R58 and some other dual boiler machines, it doesn't have the HX pre-heat loop, and I wonder how that affects shot recovery time. It also has the steam boiler switch in a pretty awkward location, and the reservoir access is a bit of a step backwards compared to most new machines.
I like that they have a custom implantation of the ever present Gicar PID from the ECM Controvento. It's a bit tiresome seeing the same display on every new PID machine. It's too bad they didn't go all the way and spec a dual loop PID so the steam boiler recovery isn't limited by PID settings intended to stop the brew boiler from overshooting.

If I'm correct Bella Barista in the UK modified (or asked Quick Mill to modify) the PID of the V2B to do exactly that. From their 'closer look':Bob_McBob wrote:It's too bad they didn't go all the way and spec a dual loop PID so the steam boiler recovery isn't limited by PID settings intended to stop the brew boiler from overshooting.
andThis ones a little different to the other units out there. Quick Mill have had the unit reprogrammed. I have moaned for years about the shared PID parameters for brewing and steaming. The two functions are mutually exclusive, parameters that are good for brew boilers, are not good for steam boilers, because as the steam boiler element comes on and tries to raise the temperature when you draw steam, the PID is actively reducing the power the closer you get to the preset temperature. This reduces available steaming power by about 17-20%, depending on how conservatively the PID is set If you set it aggressively to improve steaming, brew boiler stability is badly affected. it's why my original pressurestat Duetto, steams better than the later models without a pressurestat.
The Verona (modified V2B) Pressurestat actually has 2 completely separate PID loops programmed into it. This means the Brew and Steam Boiler parameters are NOT shared. in addition some band limit functions have been introduced which control the temperature range over which the PID parameters begin to work. Wider for the steam boiler and narrower for the brew boiler. In extensive testing, I have found the ideal settings for the machine, with just Proportional and a little Derivative damping for the steam boiler. In practise this means up to 17% better steaming and full power applied to the steam boiler when you start steaming, just like the pressurestat used to do. No other machine using the above Gicar PID has this special programming (commissioned by QM) at the time of writing.

This is a nice looking machine but 2799 seems a bit extreme for this class of machine. What was it before the price jumped?
The V2B seems to be a much better bang for the buck for a similar class machine.

Idrinkcoffee.com was advertising 2400 as an introductory rate. Its gone up but you may be able to get it down to 2600 and likely less in the coming months through various sales or even negotiations. Wholelattelove.com will also be selling it in a few days.
While more expensive (for now) than competing Machines, the shot timer and SS boilers (slightly larger than the competition) are two things that separate it from the other top performers (vibiemme, rocket, and izzo). Some individuals may very well pay a 200$ premium for those features especially considering expected length of ownership.
