Had this up and running for about a week. Just noticed this issue, which seems to come & go: the machine is fully heated with a full reservoir, but the safety light intermittently turns off/on.
Any idea what the issue might be? Machine was purchased brand new.

That's a bad connection in the circuit that checks whether there is water in the tank. There are two screws in the tank and two wiper contacts in the case. When the connection slips, the light blinks. Reseat the tank and tighten up the wipers.

Wipers are tight. Any other thoughts?

What kind of water are you using? You need enough mineral content in the water for the machine to detect it. Perhaps the minerals are a bit low.

On my Strega I put just a tiny bit of conductive paste on those screws. Solved the problem for me.
In my case the paste was a silver based thermal compound, but you can use zinc oxide ointment too.
