Nemox Steam Tip

Postby ptrck2184 on Mon Jan 11, 2010 4:03 pm

I realize that this post will be of very little interest to the majority of viewers due to the low level of popularity my machine has in the United States (from what I gather), but I was hoping that someone may be able to help.

I have searched the HB forum's and other sites for an answer, but the best I can come up with is 4 year old posts from the Australian coffeesnob forums. Needless to say, many of the responses are not very helpful at this time and location.

After dramatically improving my shot quality by switching from illy to Black Cat and Ambrosia (thanks HB), I have moved on to microfoam. The machine seems to have good steam capability, but it comes with a froth enhancing tip. The simple solution is to remove the froth enhancing tip, but what I am left with is a very short piece of pipe and a thread. I realize that the length of the pipe without the froth tip makes it very difficult to steam large pitchers, but does anyone know if the thread will accept other steam tips? For example, I would be willing to buy a one hole Silvia tip to replace the froth enhancer (and deal with the short pipe), but I have no idea if the thread will accept the tip.

Does anyone have any experience with trying different steam tips or steam mods with this line of machines?

Note: Only posted this thread on one coffee site
