Need Help Identifying this Bezzera

Postby RistrettoD on Wed Aug 10, 2011 8:29 pm

Hi Gents,

I was just given this Bezzera machine from someone who claims they purchased it new around 2000-2002. I've looked all over the internet and I can't identify it. It is a direct plumb in model and I'm not sure if it's a vibe or rotary pump. Attached are some pictures. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I've looked all over the internet . . .

But have you looked here? http://www.bezzera.it/home_ing.html . Your machine does have a rotary pump.

Do not attempt to operate unless you are connected to a water source and . . . your control box (Gicar) looks as though it has seen some high temps judging by the burn marks.

Thank you for the response! I did look at the Bezzera website but I can't find this machine.

Is there any way to hook this machine up so that it can feed from a container until I can find out what is wrong with it?

Assuming your "friend" also gave you the water supply hose, you can stick the end of it in a gallon jug and go from there.

BUT, what I really suggest is that you locate a local espresso machine repair facility who can "check out this machine from head to toe". The US distributor for Bezzera is here: http://www.1st-line.com/ . They may or may not be willing to put this machine in the repair line (not that it definitely needs repair) to give you a condition report.

And your experience level with espresso machines is ??

The machine hasn't been used in 2 years because it "stopped working" and it was about to get tossed.

I've messed with my Silvia several times and added a PID but I'm far from an expert. I did take this machine with the intention of making a project out of it and didn't want to spend a bundle paying someone else to fix it.

I wish I could find out the model to get started:/

Thanks again.

Any chance you could either get a better picture of the plate, or type in what it says on it *exactly* ?

The plate says:

N: 941994
Data: nothing printed
LT:2
Hz 50/60
V: 110
W:1500
A: 13.5

Thank you.

Nor did I necessarily want you to "spend a bundle" with anyone OTHER THAN giving you an objective report as to the machine's condition.

BUT this, in and by itself, is not and should not be inexpensive - I would think about 2 man/hrs @ $75 per.
