Need filter for water tank?

Even though my Faema E98 is plumbed in, it has a tank which I guess acts as a reservoir. The tank has a water filter which I would like to replace with a new one. Does anyone know where I can find an identical one? I've searched all my normal internet espresso/coffee stores without any luck. Am I able to use another type filter? Thanks.

if you need a filter screen any of the one in circulation will do since looks like you have a silicone hose as intake

Most of those little end of line screens also contain softener beads to help soften the water. If you shake it, does it rattle? The new versions are clear plastic and you can see the little beads inside the filter. They also have to be refreshed every so often or they lose their ability to soften the water. If your water is good, you can just do away with the entire thing and just lay the silicone tube in the water reservoir. If you do away with it, make sure you cut a V notch in the end of the silicone tube. That way it cannot suck up against the side of the reservoir when the pump is drawing water.

Sorry to ask the obvious, but if it's plumbed in, the reservoir is not in use, right?
