My replacement is on the way, hoping to finally enjoy this thing.
The mention about having instructions on installing the cartridge would probably be a good thing...I realize it isn't terribly difficult or anything but I can see how some people would wonder if they are supposed to try to push the cartridge in and then put the cap on...how far to screw the cap down, etc etc...
I myself was wondering if the handle(cap) should be screwed all the way down or just until I knew the cartridge was punctured.

I wish mine was working. Brand new, 4 days old...4 cartridges that were includes yielded a whopping 2 double shots
Don't mean to rain on anyone's parade and be negative, but when I am bleeding a $20 bag of coffee beans and getting air because of cartridge insertion problems (I think), the last thing I want to do is try again--because the last thing I want to do is wake up in the morning and get angry at my coffee.
I have worked at coffee shops, so this is not down to grind setting, I know what I am doing on the coffee side. You would think inserting a cartridge is self-explanatory, but when I insert it and turn the cap and get toward the end it is like trying to open up a honey jar that has been collecting honey goodness and become glue to the lid for far too long. How can this be? In some cases I have not even been able to completely close it because it is that difficult, so knowing that it wont pull shots correctly, I then am forced to unscrew and this release the gas quickly before I can try a re-screw of the cap. Even when I finally get it on--nothing.

parkerto,
sounds like the problem I had with my first one, however, 9 times out of 10, my trigger wouldn't work at all, much less 2 shots...what I found is that it was easier to pull to the trigger to see if gas was coming out at all before trying to pull any shots
I don't think I was ever able to screw the handle cap down completely...perhaps there was a problem in the chamber or something
for what it's worth I had all mypressi cartridges...my new unit should be here next week so we will see if that one works correctly

Todd - it sounds like you aren't screwing down the back cap all the way. It's supposed to be a little tough at the last 1/2 to 1/4 turn in order to make a tight seal, and allow the "lines" to match up on the handle. Try to screw in the cap without a cartridge to see what I mean (should go in easy, and when it gets tight is where it should stop to give you frame of reference). If you are, then the inner gasket could be bad. Can you try taking a picture of the inside of your handle?
If you are indeed not tightening the cap down all the way, it might be easier with the slightly smaller cartridges for you if you are having trouble with the mypressi ones, including the iSi, Cafe Crema, Whip It, and Xtra -- these work fine for me on my v2, however, on random occasions, sometimes they do fail and I get a leaking charger in the handle. They can also be found at discount prices if you search for them (or I can pm you the link to the retailer I've now ordered from several times, don't want to break any rules).
I had been using the twist 2-4 times daily to make milk-based drinks (turns out the espresso I had been making was good, I just don't like it), but stopped about 6 weeks ago when I ran out of cartridges. Simply been too lazy to order them :p I'm hoping the electric plug comes out soon! *hint hint*

wow, didn't even know that an electric part was in the works, that will be awesome
as far as a problem screwing it in, it could be defective, my first unit was extremely hard to screw in and I couldn't get it to screw down all the way...it wouldn't put out any pressure either when pulling the trigger either
I just got my replacement yesterday and immediately I could tell the different in the handle/cap. I've only used one cartridge so far so I can't comment yet on if it is going to work through cartridge changes (I should know that in a week or so...I only pull 2-3 shots a day). I will say that the first cartridge went in OK and I pulled 4 doubles from it without a problem. The espresso is great, I had stopped by a local coffee shop up the road on the way home yesterday and when I got home found that the twist had arrived...I compared the two and the twist shot was miles ahead of the local shop (even with the grind not dialed in yet). However, I can't give too much credit to the local shop, it's a starbucks clone with a student (hip) atmosphere. There is a "hip" sushi shop right up the road and needless to say neither seem to know how to make authentic "goods".

I've just started noticing that the shower head leaks profusely as it's preheating. I'm not sure if it has got worse or if it's always been like this, but after filling the chamber with water I'll set it on the counter and weigh/grind/tamp, when I come back the counter is soaked and the chamber is nearing empty. I was previously just setting it in the sink to preheat and didn't really notice whether it was leaking water... I've taken the shower screen apart a few times and rinsed/cleaned under the rubber disk--no grinds. I don't think it's affecting the taste of the espresso (preinfusion! :]), but it's becoming a bit annoying having to wipe up so much water before every shot. Defective or much ado about nothing? Is the rubber disk behind the shower screen not fitting properly?
I took a quick video to show how fast it's dripping out. It might look slow, but I timed it and at this rate the chamber is nearly empty in about a minute and a half

GeoffPDX,
I would call and/or email their support...it seems to be pretty good. The beauty about the twist is that if it is bad you only need to replace the shower head which probably doesn't cost much at all.

Geoff,
I had the same issue with my V2 unit after only a few weeks of ownership and Mypressi promptly shipped me a new shower head at no charge. That solved the problem and I've had no other issues in the subsequent few months.
Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, guys.
Must say: Mypressi is one hell of a good company. I sent them an inquiry email about my problem and expected them to respond within the usual 1-2 business days with a "that's not a big deal; don't worry about it". Instead, I got a response in less than 1 hour saying, "that's not a huge issue and here's a simple fix for you, but we're happy to send you a replacement shower screen anyway--it's on the way" Wow. Customer service at its very finest.
