Here's an idea: what about having somewhat of a "saturated grouphead" concept - to fill the water chamber, place it in a boiler with a precise temperature set (surfing the temperature of an electric kettle should work as long as you have an accurate probe, right?). Having soaked the water chamber (upside down) in the water at the correct temperature for your beans (say, 200F), you remove it (filled with water, lifting straight up), cap it, and extract as soon as possible. Then adjust starting temperature to take temperature drift (between removal from the kettle to actual brewing) into account.
My first reaction, when watching this video, was:
"DAMN THAT'S COOL. I DON'T NEED ONE BUT I WANT ONE."
