Mypressi twist pressure (trigger) problem?

Postby subq on Sat Oct 15, 2011 6:33 pm

just got a new mypressi twist and it seems the trigger mechanism is finicky...wondering if anyone else has seen similar issues with it

basically, the thing just doesn't put out any pressure at all sometimes, other times it seems to not put out enough pressure

I'm thinking it may have something to do with where the cartridge hooks in because if I mess with that (i.e. screw it out some) when it isn't putting out any pressure at all...I can get it to work sometimes.

I have yet to pull a decent shot with it but I'm not ruling out my inexperience in that regard. My issue is mainly with the fact that it just doesn't work sometimes. I've burned through about 5 cartridges because when I can't get it to work at all I have to pull the cartridge.

Anyway, not sure if I should contact mypressi direct or the vendor or if other people are seeing similar issues...solution being to just jack with the cartridge "screw in" until it puts out pressure.

I was able to pull few good shots, but after few weeks it just doesnt work for me anymore. I also go through cartridges fast and sometimes cannot even install them without bursting them out.

Did you get another one?

I have to wait for the vendor to get the one I returned and then ship me a new one. Mine had the problem brand new right out of the box. I was only able to pull one shot out of 5 cartridges and even that one wasn't great. To troubleshoot, I was just pushing water (no coffee)...that is how I figured out it had serious pressure/trigger problems.

I'm a located in Auckland New Zealand but bought mine in Melbourne. Great little gadget and has gone quite well for the first 3 months. Now I can hardly get a single coffee from a cartridge. It's a pleasure to see others have had the same problems I felt I was some how using it incorrectly. Is there a New Zealand Agent ? I anticipate problems getting the Australian Shop to be enthusiastic. Thanks Peter Milsom

I wonder how common the problem really is.

Prima is in the process of replacing mine and Espressi chimed in to offer help as well...so a + to each of them in that regard.

I've had that problem with no less than 5 twists. The company has been marvelous--super responsive always, but this flaw is getting ridiculous. I don't know what's up with the thing.

my replacement just started leaking gas I guess, a cartridge will be empty if left overnight, even if I only pulling one shot off a new one

they want me to send the base in :(
