LPI Gas Converter Kit For 2 group La Spaziale 3000 Commercial Machine

Postby russgaddi on Wed Mar 17, 2010 1:37 am

I just recently bought a mobile espresso truck with a 2 group La Spaziale 3000 commercial machine which is electric. The truck has a large and a loud generator which creates energy for the espresso machine and I've been trying to get the espresso machine converted to gas, as it would take less energy to operate in order to replace the generator. I was wondering if someone can help me with finding a parts store in order to do the conversion and briefly describe how the process of conversion works with a ball park figure of how much it may cost me as well as any other advice that I can benefit from. Anything will help! Thanks for all of your time in order to help me!

I know it's not what you're looking for but perhaps leaving the machine as electric and modifying the generator would be better. I recently put a second storey on our (was-bungalow) house which resulted in removal of power service for a few months. I got my hands on a used generator (5 kW) which had the loud, factory-standard disc style muffler on it (not larger than 6" diameter and 2" tall cylinder). I didn't want to bother the neighbors so I found that my local equipment supplier (lawn mower and small enginer shops - i.e. chain saws, snow blowers, etc) sold a real muffler for this machine for $110 (the motor is a 10 hp tecumseh). I fitted the muffler and all was said and done (2 bolts, 5 minutes).

One other question. I know some machines had gas for heating and cup warming, but what about the electric pump? I'm guessing you need power to it regardless. With the above, you could keep the power and also have it for grinders too.
