Leaking steam arm on La Spaziale

Unfortunately, this is my second (small) problem with my new La Spaziale (the first problem was a hissing noise that stopped when I was instructed to tighten a valve in the machine).

When I start steaming a small amount of water sputters out from above the steam arm.

Is this normal?

No, that's not normal. You could try tweaking the large brass nut that's visible 1/8th turn tighter. It that's the cause, the leak should stop. Otherwise the leak could be elsewhere and you should contact Chris. He frequently checks his e-mail, even on weekends and holidays.

Hi Carrie,

No, not normal. There's a ball joint attachment for the steaming arm, is this where the water is sputtering from? I have the same machine and, I'm sorry to say this doesn't happen on it... It looks like there is a faced nut that you can tighten for this ball joint, but I'm not certain that would solve your problem... Sounds like you may have to put in another call to Chris's Coffee Service

Enjoy the machine. I've loved mine so far. It has been a bit of a learning curve, but I'm starting to get great results!
