La Valentina Semi Auto flow surge at end of shot

Postby sweetespresso on Sun Jan 31, 2010 10:22 am

Hello all,

I have a La Valentina Semi Auto (BFC Junior) that is only a few weeks old. Whilst the flow of espresso is perfect during the shot, when i stop the shot with the switch the flow seems to surge out of the portafilter? (ie the last section of the shot flows faster than what had come before it; Interested to know why this occurs and if there is anything one can do to stop it.

Regards,

:D

I own one and it's caused by the closure of the grouphead solenoid. If it bothers you, move the cup aside first and then turn off the pump.

Ditto. I, too, own one and my experience is the same as Dan's (and yours).

Same here on Alexia... I can't say I noticed difference in a cup when I pull the cup out before turning off the pump...
