La Spaziale Mini Vivaldi II - Died and Won't Power On

Postby Makanmata on Sun Oct 09, 2011 8:31 pm

My first critical problem with my several years old Mini Vivaldi II (and only a few minor issues along the way).

Last night, after changing the gaskets and cleaning up the group heads, and then running some water through the machine, it suddenly turned itself off, and can't be turned back on. No lights are lit, and the machine is just totally dead as if it is not receiving any power. There was no strange behavior before this happened, and the only thing out of the ordinary that I did was change the gasket, which banged the machine around a bit in order to chisel out the gasket and replace it -- although nothing at all dramatic or that I haven't done several times before. I have now tried several different electrical outlets to assure that it is not an electrical/fuse problem in my apartment.

I've sent an email to CCS to see if they have any ideas, but it is a holiday weekend in the United States, and I'm hoping that somebody here might see this first and be able to make some suggestions for how I can diagnose and possibly fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

Problem resolved. CCS got in touch with me, despite the holiday in the USA today, and pointed me to the fuse holder located on the bottom of the machine, towards the right rear. I pushed and twisted it open, reseated and replaced it, and all is working well again.

Good to hear! I had no idea what holiday you referred to and learned via Wikipedia that today is Columbus Day (2nd Monday of October).
