Its still dripping, I am leading towards the valve. It was manufactured in 2006 used for one catering event and the sat on the owners kitchen counter until last month when I bought it. I am thinking the rubber on the sealing piston has just lost its elasticity

Some drips during warmup is normal correct?

Yes, because the valve is functioning as a thermal pressure relief for the heat exchanger. It would be most pronounced when starting from "cold". After doing a short flush on a fully warmed up machine, there will be some discharge from the valve because brew water fills the open space in the cylinder and exits when the solenoid is not powered.

Do you not have any information on your existing valve? i.e. Lucifer, Parker, Sirai etc. etc.

Well, the only thing I can suggest is to post a pic of your valve disassembled, including the coil and perhaps someone will recognize it as to the particular brand. It MAY turn out that that entire valves (incl solenoid) are, in fact, interchangeable but I could not say for sure. You will definitely need two new o-rings so be sure to include those. They seal the fluid passages on the part you likely (and correctly) did not remove.

Espressotec in Canada is a La Scala dealer and MAY have some info.
