La Marzocco Linea thermostat acting up. Will installing a PID kit replace it?

I think my thermostat is starting to get buggy with age.

espressoparts.com doesn't appear to have the right part, but coffeeparts.com.au does (I'm in Australia anyway).. for $380. A full PID kit on espressoparts is $400.

Does a PID kit fully replace the thermostat, or does it rely on it? I'm guessing/hoping that it completely removes the thermostat and replaces it with a thermocouple.

Yes, it fully replaces the thermostat.

You should also check with the La Marzocco distributors in AU. LM also makes one for the linea and I think they have a couple of versions with different temp probes.
