Hello,

I will not be using my La Martocco GS3 (av, not plumbed in) for two full weeks. What do I need to do before I turn it off and after I turn it on again?

Many thanks

Nothing special beyond your usual session cleaning (backflush & rinse). I suppose the water in the steam boiler could get a little bit funky; if you're concerned, flushing a good amount of water through the water wand when you return should freshen it up. I definitely don't think it's worth the time/trouble emptying the boilers.

Have as many shots of espresso as possible, it is going to be a long two weeks.

Tell it you will miss it and think of it every day, and you will call it a lot whenever you can. Send a few postcards, maybe some with a picture of a bar, and an arrow with the caption, "Wish you were here!" Promise you will take it next time, but only if you mean it. They know when you are lying.

Oh and if your GS3 is anything like my dog, do not come home smelling like another espresso machine.
