No your math is fine. My excuse is that I jumped over from the accounting profession a year ago into marketing (with all due respect to Marketers out there) so MY math's a bit rusty.
I believe when I fiddled around between Celcius and Fahrenheit when I first took possession, that the increment on my unit WAS +/- 0.3F.
To your original question, perhaps in newer units, that degree of control has been improved to 0.1F. However, if that were the case, would that mean that the celcius could be tuned to +/- 0.05C? For me, the display would show something like 90.25C, then 90.30C, then 90.35C, etc. I doubt it. If that WERE the case though, they could perhaps use this as a selling point to justify the new price increase.
