Postby NewEnglandCliff on Wed Jun 21, 2006 11:41 pm

La Marzocco of Italy has recently informed me that GS3 production is currently slated for October, with delivery beginning in early 2007.

There will be no production in the US?
The Italians have to do the entire job?

The La Marzocco factory is in Italy. Florence (aka Firenze) to be more specific. That's all.

There is no production in the US? Only distribution?

I know that LM is producing in Firenze - I already visited it,
it's OLD EUROPE - just 600km away from my home base.

The production of the commercial line is outside Firenze.

Nice facility...small and homey.

I don't gather that they'd be able to produce the GS3 from the same building.

You can expect distribution in the US to be through already established channels.

Still did not get it: what do they do at La Marzocco USA?

I've learned that there is no plant / production, right?

There was a La Marzocco Seattle factory at one time, but not anymore. LM USA still maintains an office in Seattle, at ESI's facility.

There's no reason why they couldn't build the GS/3's at the Firenze factory. These will be a relatively low production machine, and the Firenze factory didn't appear to be running at full capacity.

Those guys are pro's. They'll be just fine. 8)
