La Marzocco Espresso-only Shot Brewer

Postby A2chromepeacock on Tue Aug 31, 2010 5:00 pm

Interesting tidbit about a new LM prototype, tucked into a report on the SF coffee scene (the prototype is at Four Barrel). Looks like a paddle group GS3 without a steam arm, but with a pressure gauge sticking up from the group. Interesting to see a Versalab grinder next to it as well.

Very similar to a prototype from Synesso, though the LM actually has an outer shell!

I am wondering can that thing do full pressure profile with paddle from 0-9 bars. That would be interesting to play with.

I can tell you that GS/3 and Versalab M3 are very nice pairs. Works great for me.

It is interesting. I wonder what the price is going to be. Somehow to me it looks much more cute then the GS/3.

Unless it's a lot cheaper than a standard GS/3, I don't see the point. Why not just get the normal GS/3 and have the option of being able to make a cappa or latte for guests who want one?

With a single boiler, it should be a lot cheaper and less complicated than the double.

It was just a fun project the guys at LM USA asked Italy to come up with. I don't think you should read too much into it in terms of being readily available. They had this in Anaheim back in April, I may have better pictures of it somewhere, the side panels were made of marble.

They had a different one for the Caffe Culture London which was completely mad, the side panels had some hot rod style flames.

I believe the Strada can go from 0-12 bar for profiling. I wouldn't be surprised if this one fell in suit.
