La Cimbali Junior D1 dosing chamber overfills

Postby NickA on Sat Jan 22, 2011 12:49 am

I have just bought a L Cimbali Junior D1 with a clear plastic reservoir just before the vibe pump. This seems to fill okay and shut off when the level gets to the topmost probe. The problem is it seems to continue filling very slowly after this. This finally results in a drip into the drip tray from the reservoir overflow. I am thinking that it is the inlet valve that is leaking under mains pressure which is why it happens slowly.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I have done a quick google to try to locate a pdf manul for this machine, but with no success; can anyone point me to one?

I'm sorry, but I don't actually understand what you are talking about. In what year was your machine manufactured? This should show on a label under the drip tray. Do you know if your machine is in its "stock" condition, or could it have been modified and/or serviced with non-standard parts? Could you post a picture of your machine, and the "clear plastic reservoir" in question?

Thank you.

Hi Ken, this thread has a picture and a diagram of the part in question, which I now see is referred to as a dosing chamber.

Cimbali Junior D1 (vibe pump) plumbing question

Unfortunately I have not been able to make out the date on the top of the control box. This particular model has a rotary switch roughly in the middle of the bottom control panel to select 1 of the 4 possible doses.

Thanks for the picture.

I have to plead total ignorance about this part and its function. Neither of my Cimbalis has a part such as that.

Good luck.
