La Cimbali Junior D autofill level - Page 4

Postby darilon on Wed Oct 13, 2010 11:48 am

Some good news and some bad news. I got ahold of the cimbali dealership and apparently a replacement box, while available, costs $320.00 (this seems, by comparison with the other gicar boxes I've seen for sale on espressoparts, espressotec and other sites to be somewhat ludicrous - though I'd hears that la cimbali parts were pricey). On the plus side, one of my Saturday morning soccer buddies is an electrical engineer and by burning some good will I can get him to have a look.

It's good to know that parts are still available for your machine. But it's still an expensive part. I sent you a PM with a less expensive repair option if your soccer buddy can't fix the Gicar box for you.

Thanks very much - excellent backup plan. Good thing you mentioned it here because I almost never get pm's and am not in the habit of checking.

Apologies for this quick meta-comment:

Assuming you have an active e-mail address for your forum account, clicking "Yes" for Notify me on new personal messages will send you an e-mail when somebody PM's you. The board can also show a pop-up message when you login if you have new PMs.

That said, I don't like PMs and have them blocked (Allow users to send you personal messages: No). I prefer the board's e-mail form (Users can contact me using the e-mail form: Yes) since I don't want yet another Inbox to follow.

Hi, so did this ever get fixed? I have the exact same Gicar box and it looks good (also simple) inside with no signs of bad parts. Just wondering what might be wrong with my autofill on my Pavoni.

Usually the relay or the transformer....

Was a place in the US that once did refurbs and had some exchange program going. But they seem to have dropped off air.

Now if ya were around the corner, as an electronics tec, I could have a look but I am a bit further away.

Have repaired a few controllers and usually under $25 in parts (IF AVAILABLE) and an hr at most with all the mucking around.

I got it fixed - but only by purchasing a replacement Gicar box. I had an offer to repair it but just figured I'd get a new one in the end.
