Krups Pump Machine Leaking from Bottom

Postby geebee2000 on Tue Feb 09, 2010 10:25 am

I have a Krups FCN2 pump espresso machine that I have had for several years. For the few times a month I make espresso or cappuccino it has worked well.

The last time I made cappuccino, it brewed the espresso fine, but when I went to foam the milk, small amounts of water started flowing from underneath the machine.

I wonder if anyone has experience with this and if it might simply be a bad gasket instead of a corroded part.

smallappliances.com stocks parts for this machine and if it's a matter of replacing a few inexpensive parts I am willing to do that to keep this machine working.

Any suggestions as to what the problem could be would be appreciated.

Greg,

I had a similar problem on my Saeco Royal Professional, leaked when steaming milk. The issue with my machine was the connection from the steam boiler (thermal block type) to the steam valve became unseated. I'm not familiar with the Krups but it could be as simple as reseating a tube (I'm assuming Krups uses plastic/nylon tubes for hot water and steam like Saeco).

I guess the first thing you need to do is open it up and take a look.

Best of luck
