Hey Bryan, thanks for the offer! I figured that there was absolutely no room on this frame for an internal pump anyway, but no big deal. I just think I'm going to build a portable cart that I can use for the setup. That way I can roll the machine into the garage or the backyard during Phoenix summertime brewing. I'd like to see pics of your Pub if you don't mind. All the pics I've seen have different ways of running wires and connections, so I'm curious to see how yours is done. I'm also really amazed at how little info on Pubs I come up with while searching the web.
As an update- where I stand with the machine now is: I managed to control all the expected leaks with rectorseal 5 after tearing the machine apart. I can say that I'm extremely happy with the performance of that stuff. I fired it up several times now and it holds pressure at a steady 1.2 bar or thereabouts. Under Stephano's advice I added back an anti-vacuum valve to the sightglass and moved the water probe from the sightglass back to the top of the boiler. **I wonder though, should those positions be reversed?** The valve really sputters until it seals and manages to drip quite a bit. But the good news is the auto refill circuit is working. So I guess all I have to do now is get a pressure regulator on the water filter line and reprogram the brew buttons with the dip switches. I'm still waiting for the panels to get back from the powdercoater, which should be any minute now, and there you have it. I'll have pics posted when that happens, maybe this weekend. I do need to get hold of a control box cover and a cover for the element terminals too. If anyone knows where to get those, I'd appreciate that 411 please.
Judging from the inherent quality of the original materials used on this machine, I think it will last a looong time with the usual good maintenance.
Thanks all
Tom
