Izzo Alex Duetto II - July Shipment Report

Postby slowrey on Wed Jul 06, 2011 1:14 pm

Hey everyone, I wanted to create a thread regarding the July shipment of Duetto II's that are coming out. As you know there was already a June thread but I thought it would be good to have a July one to indicate the changes to the machines when people start having them arrive to their houses.

Let us know what's changed and how you like the machine!

I have a pre-order for one of the July shipments (there are two, in case you missed my post). There will be some machines with no changes from the June shipment and there will be some machines that have the redesigned reservoir and fill switch (float sensor instead of microswitch). I put in a request to get the redesigned one, which Mary indicated would most likely be the later July one. That means, I probably won't get it till early August.

Well I didn't hear from Mary thus I guess it's going to be August for me too.

I called CC yesterday to get an update on the latest shipment. Apparently they're still stuck in port trying to clear customs. I was told, "possibly by end of the week." Also, Mary was out sick yesterday.

So what are the differences between the July shipment and the August shipment?
I was not informed of any of the differences when I pre-ordered mine.

The reservoir has been redesigned to have an open top (I believe identical to the Quick Mill) and the low water sensor is now a float sensor instead of a microswitch. I was told that they wouldn't know which shipment would have the redesign until they get them in the shop. It could be this one or the one in August.

Well, the redesigned one wasn't part of this shipment and won't be in till mid-August, which means it wouldn't reach me till end at least the 3rd week of August. So, I opted for the current shipment. Since I'll hopefully be plumbed in eventually, I can live with the current reservoir and low water sensor design. Will have machine by next Friday.

Still waiting on my call... I will opt for this shipment as well since I will be plumbing this machine in.
I just want to make sure my cup warmer fits :)

Nice to have joined the ranks of the impatient. Mary did make a note for me to make sure there are no fitment issues.
