Izzo Alex Duetto II - August/September Shipment Report

Postby slowrey on Wed Aug 03, 2011 10:56 pm

Title says all.

Received an email from Chris Coffee and they stated that they figured out the issues. Seems that Izzo upgraded the stainless steel on the case and they need to upgrade the template for the bends since it doesn't flex as much. She didn't say when they might change the template.

I've been traveling a lot so it's not killing me being without the machine. Is there another machine comparable besides the the Vivaldi II?

I'm not sure what to do now ugggh.

Vibiemme Domobar Super DB
Dalla Corte Mini
Expobar Brewtus

Depending on what you mean by comparable (quality, price, features, reservoir/plumbable, etc.)

Curious, was the issue they found an across the board issue or an isolated one for your machine (or a handful of the machines that had similar issues)?

This I can't say honestly but it may just be a handful.

I was one of the June shipped buyers. I'm thrilled with my machine through and through. I think the fit and finnish issue was isolated to two, maybe three units (not mine). I recall two members commenting on too tight-fit issues of the cup tray.

Either way, development is a good thing. And, at the price level, I really think the handles should be stock, not an option for and additional $50. But that's up to Izzo, not CCS.

Well I got word that the machines will be here in September and they will have a larger opening in the reservoir and a magnetic float system for low water.

As for when they will be adjusting their design to have better fitment that's up in the air.

You heard that the next shipment would be here in September? I ordered a Duetto last week, and Mary from CC said that they would be here between 8/15 and 8/22 IIRC. I hope I won't have to wait until September...

I got the same 8/22 date from Mary on Monday when inquiring about their shipment schedule. Either they've pushed that back, or there's one more shipment (on 8/22) of the prior design before they get the shipment with redesigned reservoirs in September.

I was under the impression that the August shipment would have the new reservoirs (mostly from Izzo Alex Duetto II - July Shipment Report), but I forgot to confirm that with Mary when I placed my order. I'll send her an e-mail tonight, and I'll post back when I get an answer.

Mary just got back to me. She said that the next shipment is "supposed to have" the improved reservoir.

Unfortunately, she also confirmed that the shipment has been delayed. It is now expected to arrive the first week of September. The CC website now reflects this as well: http://www.chriscoffee.com/products/home/espresso/izzoduetto
