To add on, I think the repeatability of flow rate is not as easy on the GS3 as it is on the slayer. As the bypass to the needle valve on the slayer is done via solenoid, the middle position guarantees the preset needle valve flow rate every time.
On the GS3 however, it can be extremely difficult to get a repeatable shot. At present I have a sticker with a line marking my preinfusion position on the group cap to align with the paddle, but even that can be finnicky at times, and you have to be careful to be eyeballing it from the same position. That said, I think the conical valve should add a little bit more finesse to this process, and am looking forward to be able to get my hands on one.

Are these machines with the new conical valve available?
In every European site i look, they still sell the old MP's, without any reference to the new model.

Im not sure the group cap is the same. The Instagram video shows the gauge rotating with the hex-shaped fitting its connected to.caffeinezombie wrote:I hope there'll be options for us just to upgrade the components missing from the new kit, hopefully a Strada MP kit version of the mod if you will, for those of us who have already invested in the group cap and manometer, etc.
The old group cap wouldn't allow that hex fitting to rotate in it.

When I placed my order with La Marzocco home last Friday I was told all orders going forward through them would include the changes. I'd recommend verifying with the vendor before you order.Gataros wrote:Are these machines with the new conical valve available?

Any idea yet how to reproduce your shot profile on the MP?

Do the exact same thing the exact same way over and over again?
Or just buy a Strada EP instead.

This video from LM may help answer some of the pressure to paddle movement questions.

While aesthetically I prefer the gauge movement vertically on the old GS3 MP/Strada mod it definitely appears the new MP has a greater paddle movement range to vary pressure. A fair trade off. That and reduced rebuilds a good thing!jgirl125 wrote:This video from LM may help answer some of the pressure to paddle movement questions.

Or a Vesuvius or a Decent
GS3 paddle movements are millimetric. In the preinfusion range 1-2 millimiter may cause different pressure/flow. Is not bad for home use (far from ideal though) but for a professional environment must be a nightmare; unusable IMO.
