Install a PID on my Vibiemme Junior DB? - Page 11

Some pictures of your machine, including the internals, would be helpful. Please also include the grouphead sensor you are using.

The instructions from Auber Instruments, without going into a long story, are not applicable.

I will post pictures bit later from home. Sensor is made from china digital food thermometer and brass part with threads that one of my friend made for me on a lathe. I verify it on ice and boiled water

Go back and look at the picture on Page 10 of this thread - your boiler temperature sensor and adaptor should be identical.

How handy are you? Do you feel comfortable doing the PID wiring? The parts are readily available so send me an email - erics at erols dot com .

As I understand only problem with auber instrument kit is not right threads at adapter. So if I have possibility made this part myself it's possible yo use auberins kit for Vibiemme domobar

That's correct. The thread mis-match is not Auber's fault as he was using info from another customer of his. It is a long, somewhat controversial, subject still being uncovered.

I decided to buy components for my PID on ebay, it cost me about 60$ shipped. I'm not shure that it right decision but I want to try to assembe and tune it by myself.

Finally, I got all part and install PID but not without problem. PID that I got from ebay was not OK SSR output didn't work but I was able to fix it. When I first time started SSR is burned out at once (60A marking on it :) ) but I found another one and now it worked. I just not completelly understand how to tune PID

If there is an auto-tune, engage it at about 80°C while the machine is heating.

For more detailed PID tuning this Omega doc is pretty good PID Controller Tuning

DON'T go nuts. There's 4.5 kilo's of brass that smooth things out.
