New Rocket Espresso Evoluzione

Postby ru4real? on Thu Dec 22, 2011 3:12 pm

Hi,

Being new here am I wishing for first time luck. I today replaced my old Quick Mill with a new Rocket Espresso Evoluzione http://rocket-espresso.com/models/evoluzione/
Now refuse the machine to start. The "on" light green lamp is only lit very very weak and the machine simply don't get hot. I followed all the instructions in the manual but it seems to be dead.

Any ideas?

And it is plugged into the same properly working outlet as the old machine? If so, is the place of purchase local? I would call them FIRST whether they be local or not.

The point of connection for the incoming power cord is TYPICALLY a screw terminal block. With the machine unplugged, make sure these connections are tight on both sides. The tiny screws you need to remove & view this terminal block are easily dropped - be cautious. Make sure the source switch is set to "reservoir" or "tank" as I would draw water from the reservoir for the initial machine learning stage and make sure the water is of same quality as you fed your Quickmill machine.

Thanks

Yeah its connected to the same outlet as the old one and yes it's a fairly local dealer. I called them and they want me to take it back to them. Question:
Do you mean screws around the area where the power cord comes out from the machine? At the bottom?

I meant the screws at the top. Even though I have done this to two Rockets (the cursory inspection), it has been a while but I do remember those little screws.

In any event, if the dealer says "come on back", there should be no hesitation on your part. While it may very well be something real simple, it may also not be (obviously) and however well intentioned your inspection and my words are . . . it adds some twists to the issue.

I will do so. Even if it means that we won't have any coffee this Christmas

Does this machine have the three position (off, pump only, full on) type power switch? Is it set to "full on"? Long shot but??

You might want to look inside the machine with the power unplugged and check all the connectors. When I received my Vetrano it would not run & it ended up being a push on wire connector had come off during shipping.

I would just take it back and let the dealer handle it.

+1, isn't that the whole point of buying local, although i feel your pain about Christmas coffee, i just stocked up on beans

And no, the switch is two positions: off and on (pump, heater and everything else).

I want to look inside but don't dare to do that..

I was in contact with the manufacturer yesterday night and they were deeply concerned. They think it could be the "motherboard" and are suggesting a replacement of it. I have to say that I am overwhelmed by their customer service.. They are personal and caring and really understand that being out of coffee the Christmas period is not something that people like us can handle very well :D

The owner of the company contacted me personally and have really tried to help out.

Thanks all
