Just bought a Le'Lit PL041 for a friend who is just starting out making espresso. I trained him a bit on my Isomac. With the Le'Lit, the brew pressure seems a bit high. Is it possible to adjust? Also, is it possible to adjust the temperature?

I'd like to know before I start taking the thing apart. If anyone has pictures of the interior and a guide to the pressure relief valve and pressure stat if it exists, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Bruce

Please note that dual purpose, single boiler machines do not have pressurestats. The machines in this class have thermostats - which are not adjustable. Pressurestats are mostly found on heat exchanger espresso machines.

As for adjusting the pressure, this is accomplished by changing the resistance in the basket's puck through the grind fineness, amount of ground coffee in the basket, and the tamping pressure. If the proper amount of extraction is received in the proper amount of time, the pump will be around 9 bar. Vibration pumps only produce enough pressure to get the water past the resistance created in the puck. With the Lelit grinder you purchased, you should be able to achieve this.

At the time of this response, the Lelit PL041 machine does not have an over-pressure valve that is adjustable.
