How to adjust Brewtus steam boiler pressure

Postby pinkpanther on Fri Sep 24, 2010 12:32 pm

Hi

My Brewtus has steam pressure between 0.7-0.9bar, and I decide to adjust to 1.0-1.2bar. Just wanna make sure what I understand is correct before do it myself. Need your help.

As the picture attached,
a.Is this plastic wheel (red arrow pointing) used for adjusting steam pressure?
b.If yes, do I have to clockwise dial as per the green arrow?

Any more recommendation would be appreciated.
Thank you so much in advance.
:D

I'm not familar with that pressurestat, but it appears to be the Signal Lux discussed in How do you adjust this pressurestat? (CoffeeGeek). If so, pay heed to this warning:

You can break the loctite seal, as I did on my Signal Lux, but be careful how much force you apply to it. I broke mine and decided to replace it with a Mater pstat.

Thank you for the link. (try googling many times but not find the page. )

Just finished adjusting.

Firstly mark a point on the wheel to remind the default setting, and dial clockwise (per the green arrow) nearly a cycle (~85%), the steam pressure is between 1.0-1.2bar as needed. It's a MUST to unplug electric power before doing.

Thanks again Dan. Happy brewing...

I will share my secret: Search by image. For example, search on expobar adjust steam boiler, look for a photo of your pressurestat, follow to the source site. I tried a few other variants (e.g., "expobar pressurestat"). If you're fairly certain it's on a given site, add the "site:" keyword, e.g.: expobar adjust boiler pressure site:coffeegeek.com or brewtus adjust steam boiler pressure site:wholelattelove.com.
