How do you lubricate a squeaky E61 lever mechanism? - Page 2

glad you merged me up. i wish i had actually looked around instead of posting.

i was mid-cafiza backflushing. actually done with the cafiza then getting ready to switch to the water "rinse" cycle. the lever got squeakier and squeakier. i posted and went back to flushing. thinking ill come back to an answer and work it out.

i got done and did the ole "seasoning" shot. less squeak but still there. about 3 more shots and the squeak is very minimal. does the build up of coffee oils actually provide a primitive lubrication?

this is working fine now and i don't think ill pull it apart. not yet at least.

thanks.

It does. After a backflush on a lever actuated E61 machine, the lever will probably feel stiff and/or squeak. A few shots later and it will likely be back to normal. Here's a picture of the cam with oils on it below.
