according to Saeco, the pressurized PF cuts total extraction time by 1/2. they claim this is by design. so a 15sec extraction is about right, using their version of the ppf. in my experience with their ppf I've found this to be about right. any more than 15 sec and the extraction turns watery & sour with too much volume.
as cannonfodder said - stop the extraction when blonding just begins, regardless of time (don't just shut it off -- physically remove the shot glass from the extraction stream so no "stragglers" get in). your coffee will taste much better.
having said that, it is also my experience that a non-pressurized pf does produce a better tasting shot on this machine. if you dissect the ppf you'll see all the springs & mechanisms that the coffee flows through & around with "intimate contact" before it exits the pf. this can't be good for flavor.
