I have a Lelit PL-62S HX machine that will intermittantly go to high (2 bar) pressure. It normally will cycle between 1.0 and 1.2 bar. After turning off and reducing pressure through the steam wand, it will function normally.
Descaling the pressurestat has been suggested, but the machine is only 6 months old, used with soft and/or bottled water.
The pressurestat looks like a Mater.
Should the pressurestat be replaced or upgraded? Any other suggestions?

I have seen pictures of several HX machines that, like mine, have the pressurestat above the steam boiler.
Does the pressurestat see only steam?
If so, is that equivalent to distilled water?
Where are the minerals that would cause the scale?
Are pressurestats more likely to fall for other reasons?

Likely a bad PSTAT. See if you can get it fixed under warranty.

Things reached a critical point last Friday. The pressure problem went from intermittant to permanent. On the same day, I received the long delayed pstat shipment from the dealer. The box had been eaten (literally) by USPS and arrived in a plastic bag. The mangled box was empty.
I called a service company at 8:30 they arrived by 11:00, my machine was working by noon. It was the pstat. The tech said there was no sign of scale and the machine was very clean. I was glad I had pro-sumer machine with standard parts.
