I was wondering if any of you have rehabbed one of the older Astoria machines w/the copper and stainless panels and had success removing the clear coat from the decorative copper cladding . (Some freak broke into my shop last night and left one there (a 1995 JUN) and now I'm obsessed with fixing the ugly mottling of the clear coat.)
The underlying copper - and the stainless panels - are fine.
Thanks.

I wonder if this stuff would work? Please check with the manufacturer to be sure it won't hurt the metal.

Thanks Scott. Napier Removall looks good as well.

except I just need a little bit.
I was hoping to hear of someone's specific experience with the Astoria coating on the copper. Failing that I'll probably just go to my local fix stuff store and try whatever they have on the shelf and go from there.

Lacquer thinner, paint stripper, or hot baking soda (for small parts). I use Lacquer thinner most often. Sounds like a good project!
