Help finding BSPP fittings

Postby Ringo on Wed Jan 19, 2011 9:51 am

Long time lurker, but my first post. I am in the process of rebuilding a very dead 2004 Faema Due Smart 2/A. I picked this up at an auction for $23, it was sold as a parts machine. It was a nasty. The rebuild has been going good, followed the steps I learned here. Stripped it down, cleaned everything, powder coated the frame, rebuilt all the valves, descaled all the tubing and the boiler. Finding the missing parts has been hard. I now have almost everything.
I need 4 little fittings and can not find them, I was hoping somebody had a place to buy small british standard fittings. Here is what I am looking for. #1 Adapter 1/8" female flare to 1/8" BSPP Male
#2 Adapter 1/8" male flare to 1/8" BSPP Male
#3 Adapter 1/8" inverted flare female to 1/8" flare female
The small sizes are the problem, I am willing to order from Europe if anybody has a source. I have tried Espresso parts, Cafe Parts, McMaster Carr, Granger, and hours of Google. I did to not start a build if parts are missing. I should have parted this one out and found a better project, too far along for that now.
Thank You
Ringo

Try this: http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/British_Parallel_BSPP_Hydraulic_Pipe_Fittings_s/206.htm . I understand BSPP threads BUT, when you say "1/8" male flare", is this supposed to accept a 1/8" OD tube?

Yes it does accept 1/8 tube, its very small. Thats what makes it hard to find. I need to say I am very weak in my understanding of the British Standard system, I am sure my wording is not correct. When I talk metric fittings I know how my wife feels when she talks to an auto mechanic, I feel dumb.

McMaster-Carr carries a lot of BSP to NPT adapters
