Thanks,

The Softener is rechargeable with Kosher salt and has to be done about once a week or once every 2 weeks, depending on water in and usage.

To recharge you basically remove your tank, fill tank with fresh water and add 3 tablespoons salt to it... Mix it up good. Then using a dedicated rubber tube for this, syphon the salt water from the tank thru the filter into the sink. once that is done, fill again with FRESH water and syphon again to clean out salt water from filter and you are ready to go again.

It's a little bit of work, but worth it for the extra protection I hope for my boiler?

It just sits in the water tank? Is it attached to anything? More info available anywhere?

I'd be interested in getting one of these. Thanks, Cathi

Hey Cathi;

Sorry for my bad explaination :(.

The Softener connects to the end of the tube that you drop into the water tank on a pour over machine.

Kinda looks like a BIG ChapStick tube, with a place on the end where you connect your espresso machine water supply tube..
