Just a late parting shot Mike and Ken - the autofill isn't going to change the shot temp enough to be noticable - remember, the water that flows through the GH is not boiler water! It's resevoir water drawn through and heated by the e61 - 9 pounds of metal ain't gonna cool off that much in 20 seconds.

Hi Geoff,

I know you posted this back in '05, but I'm looking at replacing my control unit as well. You went from Gimmie to a GICAR? Is that correct? And what about proximity to the boiler and the effect heat may have on the components? DId you move the control unit elsewhere or maybe insulated the boiler?

Well, my GICAR just went bad...and that aint good. I've done some shopping online and they are not cheap!! So what I'm hoping on finding out from you is, did you find an inexpensive dealer that sold you the units? I found a couple places that have comparable prices to eachother, but Im just wondering if you know of a place that might sell them much less.

Regards

I want your old Gicar board. I am beginning to think that these go bad, but on the edge, not in the main parts. But I need several to look at to check.

If you find your board is dead please send it off to me instead of trashing it. I really would like several of these to check out.
