Gaggia Classic problem with grouphead seal

I have had a Gaggia Classic for 6-7 years now and it has performed and behaved impeccably. However, recently excess water appears to be leaking from the filter holder and seems to be pouring down the outside of the holder cup and spurting sideways where the two pouring channels are either side of the base of the filter cup.

Am I right in thinking this may be a problem with the rubber group head seal (is that what it's called?) that the filter cup buts up to in the main machine head?

I imagine the group head seal has just become compressed over time and needs replacing.

Any experts out there think that this is the problem and if so, is it difficult to replace the group head seal and where is the best place to buy one?

All help and advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Sure sounds like it. You can buy the gasket at your favorite online espresso equipment retailer (e.g., WholeLatteLove).

the screws idea looks good.. sometimes can be a PITA to take those dry gaskets out.

here is your gasket

or if your PF is to old or worn out and locking at 3 instead of 6 o'clock you can get this one.

Big thanks Juanjo and HB for such a prompt reply. I've ordered a couple of seals and will use those instructions.

Top work!
