Fuji PXR3's on Ebay

Postby erics on Fri Dec 19, 2008 11:23 am

Just by happenstance, I noticed that a long-time seller of Fuji controllers reduced their price by $25:

This controller reads in degrees F, is suitable for 100-240 VAC, and has SSR output. At $64 it is a pretty good price for a "brand-name" controller. Santa's waiting :)

Not bad. I picked one up for a future project. Thanks for the tip.

Hi guys,

does anyone know the name of the seller? I was curious whether he has any of those Fujis for sale.

Hi Eric,

well no wonder I couldn't find them as I was looking for 'Fuji PID'.

I need one to put together a PIDed kettle. I'm sick of waiting for the water to cool down before I prepare my drip, waiting to hit the desired temperature, re-heating if it went down too much and so on.

I'll email to discuss.

One item that Tom (DSC) pointed out to me in a private e-mail exchange is that the particular Fuji PXR3 being offered by the Ebay seller can be changed from reading degrees F (the default for this model) to successfully reading degrees C. I have succeeded in doing this.

Now before ya'll start reving those keyboards up :) , let me assure you that this particular model (PXR3RCY1-4VOA1) has a nice "degrees F" symbol on the faceplate and the Fuji instruction sheet accompanying this controller has NO MENTION of this whatsoever.

The parameter in question is entitled "P- F" and is the eleventh parameter of the 2nd block. This info is probably not too important for US customers but for others, it provides a means to make the swap in units.

I've never understood why Fuji prints the F or C on the faceplate. The temperature scale can be changed in software, but you are then left with the need to place an ill-fitting sticker (available from Fuji) over the F (or C).
