Is the pressurestat the one I have highlighted with the red arrow? I guess that to adjust the pressure you rotate the screw.

Thanks!

That looks like a Sirai pressurestat; the screw you have the arrow pointing to only holds a cover (which is not present) onto the case; the adjustment screw is off screen on the left; you need a wide blade screwdriver to adjust it because there is a large gap in the middle, with notches on the ridges for the screwdriver to slot into.

See:
How to adjust an espresso machine pressurestat (boiler temperature)

Here's another thread with good pictures of the insides of the pressurestat:

That's great, thanks!

Yes, when I took the picture the cover was removed.
I will try to lower the pressure to a safer 0.9-1.1 bars. I am sure that for the time being is much better for me.

I'll post an update shortly.

Thanks!

Don't think that 1.1 is "safer" than 1.3... It's cooler, sure.
Most espresso boilers will handle all the way up to 2.0 before the over pressure safety will vent excess pressure. Adjust your pressurestat for temperature and MORE importantly, for taste.

Yes, I used the wrong word, sorry. I meant "safer for taste" :) It takes too long - IMHO - to stop boiling when preflushing. At the time being we make a few coffees/cappuccinos per day and I reckon a lower temperature could provide a better result.

I will also adjust the pump, again. I adjusted it last week but for some obscure reason the water pressure has dropped back to 8/7.5 again. My concerns is that when I adjusted it to 9atm the needle was oscillating a lot, between 8 and 10, while if it stays on 8atm it's much more stable.

Let's see what happens.

Thanks

Ok, managed to drop the pression from 1.2-1.4 to 0.9-1.1. Takes 20s to stop boiling now, even though I will try again tomorrow when the system has reach the new temperature again.
As read, with that pressurestat it took a few turns to drop the pressure of 0.2 bars.

Managed to raise the pression as well. Now the manometer reads between 8 and 9. I think I am happy because if I try to raise it more the needle starts to be very unstable.

Tomorrow the taste-test :)

I am going to install waterproof rockers, the one installed get wet when pre-flushing the machine and then the breaker trips...

I am also going to replace the resins in the softener since the water coming off them smells funny.

Tonight I made an Apple on a lovely cappuccino! :)

I want to thank again everybody for the help.
